‘We are back!’ — Ex-Man United and Super Eagles star gloats after beating Arsenal
Former Manchester United striker Odion Jude Ighalo has celebrated the Red Devils’ dramatic 3-2 win over Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.
The ex-Super Eagles forward took to social media to revel in the comeback victory and aimed a playful dig at Gunners supporters.
Man United comeback sparks Ighalo celebration
Manchester United came from behind to secure all three points, with goals from Bryan Mbeumo, Patrick Dorgu and Matheus Cunha completing an impressive turnaround in north London.
The result was a major boost for United in a season full of ups and downs, and sparked an emotional reaction from Ighalo.
Reacting on Instagram, the former Watford and Shanghai Shenhua striker wrote: "Manchester United, we are back, the biggest and best club in the whole world. 'We are going to keep them quiet this time," as he shared his excitement over the victory.
The post quickly gained attention from fans, with many United supporters echoing his confidence after the eye-catching win over one of their biggest rivals.
Ighalo takes swipe at Arsenal fans
Ighalo did not stop there, doubling down with another post aimed directly at Arsenal supporters. In a follow-up Instagram story, he added:
"The silence of Arsenal fans on social media is proudly sponsored by Manchester United," continuing the light-hearted trolling after the defeat.
The former Nigeria international joined Manchester United on loan from Shanghai Shenhua in January 2020, becoming the first Nigerian-born player to represent the club.
During his brief spell at Old Trafford, Ighalo scored five goals and registered one assist in 23 appearances, leaving a memorable mark despite his short stay.
