WATCH: Kaizer Chiefs Star in Ugly Confrontation With Fans After Painful Cup Exit
Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Brandon Petersen nearly engaged in a fist fight with a section of the club’s supporters following the club’s elimination from the Nedbank Cup on Wednesday.
Chiefs were on the end of a 2-1 loss to Stellenbosch FC at the DHL Stadium in Cape Town in a game when they were second best as they exited the competition that they won last season.
The Glamour Boys were hoping to defend their trophy but were pegged back after Ibraheem Jabaar and Devi Titus scored in the first half before a second half penalty from Flavio Silva gave them some hope.
Chiefs Fans Go Hard on Petersen
Chiefs had their moments but did not utilise their chances although Stellenbosch fully deserved their win and should have won by more were it not for Petersen’s heroics in goal.
However, despite the goalkeeper’s impressive run this season which has seen him keep 13 clean sheets across all competitions, some fans were still not happy and took out their anger on him as he came to the stands to salute the supporters after the match.
In a clip posted online, Petersen is seen visibly angry and lashing out at some fans while he nearly throws a jab before he is held back by stewards.

They were criticizing Orlando Pirates for booing Moremi & Mbuthuma in 2025,
But it never got to this level of baptizing players with water.

Some fans also fire back at him while another one sprinkles water on him as the situation gets ugly before he then hugs a young fan.
Chiefs’ exit from the Nedbank Cup leaves them with the league and CAF Confederation Cup as the competitions they can win this season.
The Soweto giants are third on the league table with 30 points from 15 matches, five behind leaders Orlando Pirates, while they are third in their Confederation Cup group with seven points, same as Zamalek, and one adrift of leaders Al Masry.
