The Sevilla man scored the second of a 2-0 victory against Algeria, which sent the Super Eagles into the semi-final of the competition, where they faced Morocco. The 25-year-old’s improvised finish to a sweeping team move earned his goal a place in the top five for the competition.

Ayoub El Kaabi: Morocco vs Comoros (Group Stage)

El Kaabi’s strike came in Morocco’s opening match of the tournament and was an early contender for the goal of the tournament. Coming off a cross into the box, he executed a perfect bicycle kick that doubled Morocco’s lead and instantly electrified the crowd.

This goal helped set the tone for Moroccco in the tournament ensuring they started with a healthy victory, after they initially struggled to break down the Eastern African nation.

Christian Kofane: Cameroon vs Mozambique (Group Stage)

Teenage sensation Christian Kofane delivered a stunning match-winner in Cameroon’s 2–1 victory over Mozambique in the group stage. With the game finely poised, Kofane collected the ball around the edge of the box and blasted a powerful, unstoppable shot into the top corner, securing all three points for the Indomitable Lions. 

Adil Boulbina: Algeria vs DR Congo (Round of 16)

In a cagey Round of 16 encounter that looked set for penalties, Boulbina stepped up in stoppage time of extra time to deliver a dramatic winner for Algeria. Picking up the ball on the left side of the box, he cut inside and fired a dipping, powerful shot into the far top corner in the 119th minute, sending Algeria into the quarter-finals.

Akor Adams: Algeria vs Nugeria (quarter-final)

Nigeria booked their spot to the semifinals with a convincing 2–0 victory over Algeria. After Victor Osimhen opened the scoring early in the second half, Akor Adams doubled the lead in the 57th minute; calm under pressure, he rounded the goalkeeper and finished into an empty net to seal the win. 

The goal came after an incisive throughball from Alex Iwobi which released Osimhen. The Galatasaray man had clear sight on goal but selflessly squared to Adams who rounded Zidane and finished into an empty net.

Pape Gueye: Senegal vs Morocco (Final)

The tournament-defining goal, and the one that sealed the AFCON 2025 title for Senegal. In the extra time of the final, Gueye surged into space and unleashed a sweet, precise drive from just outside the box that beat Bonou and stood up as the decisive winner in Senegal’s 1–0 victory over hosts Morocco.
