Victor Osimhen and Burna Boy: Super Eagles star teams up with African Giant in Lagos

Super Eagles of Nigeria star Victor Osimhen is back on the social media trends.

Osimhen is trending after his latest involvement with Nigerian singer, songwriter, and record producer Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu known professionally as Burna Boy.

Osimhen picked up an injury in a Turkish Lig fixture for Galatasaray against Kasimpasa.

Although Osimhen scored two goals, he also picked up an injury that is described as not serious but will keep him out of action for a while.

The injury means Osimhen will not feature for the Super Eagles of Nigeria in their upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against the Mediterranean Knights of Libya.

Despite his absence from the national team, Osimhen took advantage of the international football break to return to Lagos, Nigeria.

On his return to Nigeria, Osimhen was spotted with Burna Boy in the club and videos of their meeting has gone viral on social media.

This comes after Osimhen teamed up with Super Falcons of Nigeria defender Tosin Demehin who also plays for Galatasaray.

Osimhen made headlines in with Team Nigeria at the 2024 AFCON in Cote d'Ivoire.

In an interview with CBS's Morning Footy, Osimhen discussed Nigerian pop culture.

He also already knows what his next steps in his career are, suggesting the Premier League as a potential suitor.

The CBS presenters asked him how he compares to Burna Boy.

The question was tailored as to who would be more recognized if they were out in Lagos.

On the streets in Lagos, who do you think will get recognized more; you or Burna Boy?

He responded, “I think for me, it’s a different world. The music world is different from football.
