De Bruyne ended his tenure as a Man City player last season, leaving the club as a free agent after not being offered a new contract.
The Belgian has signed for Italian champions Napoli and is looking forward to starting a new journey in Italy.
Van Dijk speaks about De Bruyne
Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk joked with Sky Sports about the departure of Kevin De Bruyne, who has left Manchester City and will continue his career with Italian champions Napoli.
"Kevin is a special player, he has special qualities and does special things on the pitch, even at his age - passing, creativity.
"It was always difficult to play against him, to have him as an opponent, so it's good that he won't be playing for City anymore," the Dutch defender said with a laugh, as reported by Sportal.
Van Dijk will be looking to help Liverpool defend their Premier League title as they will begin the new season facing Bournemouth.
