Usain Bolt gets new appointment as Director of Performance for giant sports wear brand

Track icon Usain Bolt has transitioned into the corporate world by being appointed as the Director of Performance for a giant sports wear brand.

The Jamaican running superstar is now collaborating with his long-term sponsor, Puma, in a new role that will involve him in various business aspects across different sports.

He officially announced his new position in an interview with esquireme.com ahead of the Doha Marathon, where he is currently in the city to preside over a key piece in the region’s growing athletic ambition and the Middle East’s running boom.

"I am currently ‘Director of Performance’ at Puma. I am involved in different aspects of the business in a range of sports. Last night I attended a football match in Riyadh, today I was at a running event in Doha, and tomorrow I open a Puma store and visit a school," Bolt revealed.

Since retiring nine years ago, the eighth-time Olympic gold medallist has seamlessly pivoted from track dominator to global ambassador, carrying out multiple philanthropic projects and positions.

Throughout his career, from youth levels to retirement, Bolt was sponsored by Puma. Their partnership developed into one of the most successful brand-athlete collaborations in history.

He continued his ambassadorial role even after hanging spikes, representing the brand in various global projects, before his latest employment as the Director of Performance.
