UECL-chasing club celebrate Auda-cious Nigerian giant after inspirational display secures win
FK Auda celebrated an important win in the Latvian Higher League on Sunday, with Nigerian striker Abdulrahman Taiwo playing a pivotal role in their success.
The club took to social media to share victorious photos of Taiwo and his teammates following their convincing 2-0 triumph over FK Liepaja at the Skonto Stadium.
Nigerian striker shines for Auda
Despite missing an early penalty in the 9th minute, Taiwo's performance showed his mental fortitude as the Nigerian forward bounced back spectacularly.
In the 25th minute, he capitalised on a pass from Croatian defender Tin Hrvoj to break the deadlock, setting the tone for FK Auda's dominance.
The match showed Taiwo's ability to overcome setbacks and deliver when it matters most was also shown by his compatriot Emmanuel Umeh who netted on his debut in Switzerland.
His goal proved to be the catalyst for Auda's control of the game, with Lucas Ramos sealing the victory in the 66th minute through a combination play involving Senegalese forward El Hadji Mane.
Throughout the match, FK Auda demonstrated their defensive prowess, withstanding nine shots from the visitors while managing ten of their own.
The home side's solid performance, anchored by Taiwo's goal, secured a crucial three points.

This victory has significant implications for FK Auda's league standing. The win propels them to fifth place with 28 points, while their opponents, FK Liepaja, remain at the bottom of the table with 15 points.
They are set to travel to Northern Ireland for a Europa Conference League that saw a Moroccan set a record last season, second qualifying round match against Cliftonville on Wednesday.
