Real Madrid's dominant performance against Manchester City was filled with standout moments, but one player's contribution was just as noteworthy as others.

Rodrygo Goes, often overlooked in favor of his more high-profile teammates, made a stunning impact.

Former Arsenal and Barcelona striker Thierry Henry was particularly impressed, singling out Rodrygo's work rate and skills during the post-match analysis on Paramount+.

Henry asked Jude Bellingham about Rodrygo's role in the team, saying:

"Please can you talk about this guy, Rodrygo Because no one talks about him but his work rate and his skills, what he does for the team... Unbelievable."

Bellingham's response was glowing: "Rodrygo is so underrated. I think, for me, he’s probably the most talented and most gifted player in the squad.

The things he can do with the football... We’ll be messing around and he’ll flick the ball up somehow and you’ll be like, ‘How did you do that?’.

Bellingham also highlighted Rodrygo's selflessness, saying: "Another thing to mention is that he is the one that sacrifices the most.

I think it’s clear that his favourite position is the left but it’s important to note that he does a lot for the team, defensively as well, on the right-hand side."

Despite being surrounded by superstar teammates like Kylian Mbappé and Vinicius, Rodrygo is a vital cog in Real Madrid's machine, and it is no surprise that Carlo Ancelotti's men started to click into gear when he returned from injury.
