Following Tyson Fury's retirement, boxing's most powerful man Turki Alalshikh announced Anthony Joshua's next opponent.

Turki Alalshikh is eager to get a fight for Anthony Joshua, regardless of whether Tyson Fury is actually retired.

Many fight fans interpreted "The Gypsy King's" announcement of his retirement earlier this month as a ploy to negotiate a potential bout with Anthony Joshua.

The city of Riyadh Expectations were high because season leader Turki Alalshikh included Fury-Joshua on his list of matches to watch in 2025.

Alalshikh is now keeping things going despite the "retirement" announcement by appointing another formidable opponent for "AJ."

Speaking to TalkSport, Alalshikh revealed intentions to make Anthony Joshua vs. Deontay Wilder a reality.

Alalshikh said, “I want to see Joshua and Wilder now.

“If Tyson is not available, why not Joshua and Wilder?

One of the most significant bouts in Joshua's heyday was Joshua vs. Wilder.

When both men were unbeaten, this matchup was marred by negotiation problems; now, both are coming off devastating knockout losses.

Even though the Wilder-Joshua and Fury-Joshua bouts are long overdue, there are several newcomers to the heavyweight category who are willing to compete.

Bakole and "AJ" faced off at the Ring Awards, and if Wilder remains idle, the bout would make sense from a matchmaking standpoint.
