The match, held at the Stade Olympique Annex Sportif Prince Abdellah in Rabat, presents a significant hurdle for the Cranes, who have failed to defeat the Carthage Eagles in their previous six encounters.

Despite the daunting record, both head coach Paul Put and captain Khalid Aucho have affirmed their team's readiness for the clash, while acknowledging the difficulty of the task ahead.

While Tunisia's recent AFCON form has been inconsistent, Put, who is also seeking his first opening-match win as a coach in the tournament, is not dwelling on past statistics.

"I’m not moved by records," Put stated. "What I know is that Tunisia is a very good side capable of getting results against every team. So, our preparations will be focused on where we can hurt them, not their previous performance."

The Belgian coach also confirmed that his squad is at full strength, with key players Jude Ssemugabi, Rogers Mato, and Jordan Obita all declared fit and available for selection after overcoming minor issues.

"Rogers Mato, Jude Ssemugabi, and Jordan Obita all had issues, but we have been working on them in the last few days, and I believe everyone is ready, starting with the game against Tunisia," he added.

Who Are the Key Players to Watch?

Tunisia, the 2004 champions, enter the match with momentum from a flawless World Cup qualifying run. Coach Sami Trabelsi will rely on key figures like Elias Saad, who has been involved in four goals in his last six appearances, and the midfield duo of Ellyes Skhiri and former Manchester United prospect Hannibal Mejbri.

The Cranes' defense will also need to be wary of experienced players such as Yassine Meriah, Dylan Bronn, Ali Maaloul, and Ali Abdi.

For Uganda, the attacking threat will likely come from forwards Rogers Mato and Allan Okello. The leadership of veteran goalkeeper Denis Onyango and captain Khalid Aucho will also be crucial in guiding a relatively young squad.

Time and Where to Watch

The match will kick off at 11pm East African time and will be live on SuperSport TV, Azam TV, Star TV and UBC.
