Chelsea have been linked with a move for Barcelona forward Ferran Torres as they explore attacking reinforcement options for the summer 2026 transfer window.
Torres, 25, joined Barcelona from Manchester City in January 2022 on a contract that currently runs until 30 June 2027, and he has developed into one of the Catalan side’s key contributors under Hansi Flick.
Chelsea’s interest
According to Fichajes, the Blues are keen on bolstering their offensive options in the summer and have identified the former Valencia man as an appreciated candidate.
The Premier League side are said to be prepared to bid as high as €80 million to convince Barcelona to part with the forward, who has established himself as an important figure in Hansi Flick’s side.
Torres fit the profile of Chelsea’s recruitment mode. He is a young, versatile forward capable of playing across the front line and playing with his back to goal. Additionally, he has experience playing in the Premier League, having donned the sky blue of Manchester City.
Barcelona may be forced to sell
With Robert Lewandowski’s playing time increasingly managed due to age and fitness considerations, Torres has found opportunities as a central attacking figure
This season, he has been Barcelona’s top scorer with 16 goals across all competitions, including 12 in La Liga and has reached 60 official goals for the club; hence, the Blaugrana are prepared to offer him a contract renewal.
However, financial constraints continue to shape Barcelona’s transfer strategy; hence, a sizable offer from the English club could see Torres make a switch to West London.
