Christian Coleman set for strong 100m test at Silesia Diamond League

In the aftermath of an emotional outing at the US Championships, where he narrowly finished sixth in the men's 100m final, clocking a Season's Best (SB) of 9.86s, Coleman is scheduled to compete in the men's 100m event at the Silesia Diamond League in Poland on August 16.

He is set to face a stacked field of some of the world's best sprinters that includes defending world champion Noah Lyles, newly crowned US champion Kenny Bednarek, Olympic silver medallist Kishane Thompson, South African legend Akani Simbine, and USA's duo of Courtney Lindsey and Trayvon Bromell, with either of them capable of securing a notable win at the meet.

Despite not being the favourite for the win, the former world champion will aim to drop another impressive time and be in the mix for a top 3 position finish.

Christian Coleman and Sha'Carri Richardson's saga

On July 27, Sha'Carri Richardson was arrested on a fourth-degree domestic violence offense for assaulting Coleman at the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.

She was booked into South Correctional Entity in Des Moines, Washington, for more than 18 hours before she was released after Coleman refused to be the victim or press charges, saying there was no physical assault. He also defended her in interviews and with a message on his X page.

After video evidence was released showing she was guilty, Richardson would later apologise for her actions and vowed to seek help to improve.
