Tina Clayton storms to new season's best as Tobi Amusan impresses with fourth-place finish at Racers Grand Prix

The stacked women's 100m field at the Racers Grand Prix lived up to expectations as Tina Clayton came out victorious in a new Season's Best (SB) time of 10.98s.

Racing against her sister, Tina Clayton left no stone unturned from the start to hold off USA's Jacious Sears in 11.04s, while Alana Reid was third in 11.14s.

Nigeria's hurdling queen Tobi Amusan, who stepped down from her trademark event, the 100mH, recorded an impressive SB of 11.18s to finish fourth, improving from her previous season opener of 11.28s.

This proves the world record holder in the women's 100mH is capable of improving her flat speed, and will be a top challenger if she decides to focus on the event.

Amusan who now trains in Jamaica with renowned Usain Bolt's coach Glen Mills, blazed to her first hurdles victory of the season at the Rabat Diamond League, where she clocked a brilliant time of 12.44s.

Her improved 100m performance, gives a perfect indication she's on the right track to being back in her best shape ahead of challenging for a medal at the World Championships in Tokyo this summer.

Meanwhile, the faster of the Clayton twins, Tia, pulled up before the finish line, raising injury concerns ahead of the Jamaican Championships in three weeks.
