Fraser-Pryce tastes defeat in 100m return race as Clayton sisters steal the spotlight at Doha Diamond League
Track legend Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce was handed a shocking defeat on her return to the Diamond League circuit as Clayton sisters stole the spotlight in the women's 100m race in Doha.
The five-time world champion competing in her first Diamond League race in three years, settled for fourth position in 11.05s behind surprise winner Tia Clayton, who clocked a blistering world-leading time of 10.92s.
Her twin sister Tina Clayton, was second in a season's best performance of 11.02s, slightly ahead of British sprint sensation Amy Hunt in a personal best time of 11.05s.
Tia Clayton had a perfect start and held her form to the finish line, defeating the respectable field, thus announcing her readiness for the rest of the year. She was Jamaica's only finalist at the Paris Olympic Games last summer, making her a formidable force to keep an eye on ahead of the World Championships in Tokyo this summer.

Meanwhile, despite Fraser-Pryce's loss, the legendary sprint queen will take solace in the fact that she finished the race healthy and will be gunning to make amends in her follow-up races as she intensifies preparations to make the Jamaican team for Tokyo.
