John Heitinga hailed Chelsea as "one of the better teams" in the Champions League, even after his side was convincingly thrashed 5-1 at Stamford Bridge.
In yet another high-scoring game in this year’s Champions League, Chelsea, who made a staggering ten changes from the side that beat Nottingham Forest at the weekend, dominated the match from start to finish.
The result was never truly in doubt after Ajax midfielder Kenneth Taylor was sent off for a foul inside 20 minutes.
Marc Guiu put Chelsea ahead from the resulting free-kick, with Moisés Caicedo adding the team’s second as the Blues ran riot with three more goals in a one-sided performance.
Ajax manager Heitinga acknowledged the quality of the Club World Cup winners, despite Chelsea currently sitting mid-table in the Champions League.

They are one of the better teams, not only in the Premier League but I think also in the Champions League,” the former Netherlands defender said.
“It was a tough one for us to take, but it is how it is.”
