‘The market is open’ - Sevilla sporting director gives update on Iheanacho’s future
Iheanacho joined Sevilla from Leicester City on a free transfer last summer after running down his contract.
However, he has struggled to break into the team, having made just nine appearances this season.
The Nigerian forward was supposed to lead the squad when he signed, but since then, he has been benched by Isaac Romero.
Iheanacho’s future at Sevilla
During a news conference on Tuesday, Orta, the sports director of Sevilla, said that the club is open to doing business, depending on the type of proposal received and Iheanacho's choice.
According to Diario de Sevilla, Orta said, “The market is open. We have the obligation to study all the offers.
“There are three parts. The players also have their feelings about their future. With the market open, anything can happen with any name.”
Iheanacho's failure to score any goal this season has led to rumours that Sevilla wants to let him go to get a more capable striker.
The negotiations have intensified this month as Wolverhampton Wanderers and Ipswich Town have reached out to Sevilla about a potential move.
