Osimhen was heavily linked with a move to Chelsea last summer, but the deal ultimately fell through, and he joined Galatasaray on loan from Napoli instead.
What Mikel said
However, with Chelsea still struggling to find consistency in front of goal, Mikel believes that the door is still open for Osimhen to make the move to Stamford Bridge.
"Chelsea has always been his club. He has come out openly to say it's his childhood club, growing up, he's always wanted to play for the club," Mikel said on the Obione podcast.
"His idol is Didier Drogba. He loves the way he played. He made it pretty clear that this is a club he wants to come to. Unfortunately, we didn't get it done last summer, but listen, you never know, I don't think the door is shut completely,” he concluded
Mikel's comments will likely spark renewed speculation about Osimhen's future, and Chelsea fans will be hoping that the Nigerian striker can finally make the move to west London.
With Osimhen's impressive goal-scoring record and his admiration for Chelsea, it's clear that he would be a great fit for the Blues.
Only time will tell if Osimhen will eventually make the move to Chelsea, but with Mikel's endorsement, it's clear that the Nigerian striker has a strong supporter in the Chelsea legend.
