What Bright Osayi-Samuel said

The Fenerbahce full-back credited the team’s rise to a clear tactical identity and strict adherence to the manager’s instructions, which he believes are making rivals increasingly uncomfortable on the pitch.

“We’re just focusing on ourselves. That’s what we’ve been doing in every game,” Osayi-Samuel said after the match.

He added, “Of course, every team has their strengths, and we look at that, but the main thing is to focus on ourselves. We keep believing and listening to what the manager wants, and teams will fear us.”

Nigeria’s authority throughout the contest was evident, and Osayi-Samuel suggested that Algeria were mentally affected by the Super Eagles’ intensity and control.

“I felt Algeria were scared of us because of the way we were playing. That is what we want to do: dominate games and dominate teams. Today was one of those performances," he added.

The Super Eagles now turn their attention to a blockbuster semi-final against host nation Morocco on Wednesday at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat, as they continue their pursuit of a fourth Africa Cup of Nations title.
