Table Tennis: Nigeria missing as Egypt set to represent Africa at ITTF Mixed Team World Cup
Egypt will represent Africa at the upcoming ITTF Mixed Team World Cup as the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) unveiled the teams for this year's edition.
The governing body for all national table tennis associations confirmed that the World Cup will occur at the Sichuan Gymnasium in Chengdu, China, from December 4th to 10th, 2023.
The African champions have earned their place among the 16 teams vying for the prestigious title, with the championship bringing together the finest mixed doubles table tennis players from the world.
Egypt will face off against formidable opponents from Australia, Canada, China, Chinese Taipei, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Korea Republic, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Romania, Singapore, Slovakia, Sweden, and the United States.
The event marks a significant milestone in table tennis, embracing an innovative mixed-team format that champions the spirit of collaboration and equality in sport.
