Super Falcons: Rasheedat Ajibade thanks God for Player of the Month award

Super Falcons of Nigeria captain Rasheedat Ajibade has reason to celebrate.

After an amazing run of form for Atletico Madrid, Ajibade was named the Player of the Month for September in the Spanish Liga F.

With five goals in four League games for Atletico Madrid in September, the 24-year-old forward was the stand out performer.

To win the prize, the Nigerian defeated Nerea Nevado of Athletic Club Femenino, Caroline Weir of Real Madrid, María Llompart of Levante Badalona, and Ewa Pajor of Barcelona.

Known for her religious posts, Ajibade took to social media to celebrate the award.

Along with a photo posing with the award was a message of appreciation to God.

She said, "I’m truly humbled and grateful to receive the league and club Player of the Month awards for September.

"This wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible support, encouragement, and teamwork from my teammates and staff.

Ajibade is Spanish Liga F's second-leading scorer and Atletico Madrid are third in the standings behind Real Madrid and Barcelona.
