The Super Eagles' official social media platforms celebrated the accomplishment of Taribo.

Along with the photos was a message that said, "Passion for country Tears and Joy. Pastor Taribo West."

The post celebrated Taribo crying at representing the Super Eagles at the 2002 FIFA World Cup.

Following the Super Eagles' defeat by Sweden at the Korea/Japan 2002 World Cup, Taribo West was in tears.

Despite leading in their second group match against Sweden, the Eagles lost 2-1.

The Eagles took the lead thanks to Julius Aghahowa, but the Swedes won thanks to a brace from Henrik Larsson.

After losing 1-0 to Argentina in their first game, the Eagles suffered their second loss in the group, which put a stop to their season.
