Super Eagles celebrate Odion Ighalo's hattrick against Libya

The Super Eagles of Nigeria have celebrated former striker Odion Ighalo.

The Super Eagles celebrated Ighalo for his heroics for Nigeria against the Mediterranean Knights of Libya.

In their 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match, Nigeria defeated Libya 4-0, with Odion Ighalo scoring a hat-trick as the Super Eagles won comfortably.

Ighalo scored a penalty after being fouled by Libyan goalkeeper and captain Muhammad Nashnoush, giving Nigeria a lead in the fourth minute.

After being released by Alex Iwobi, the captain Changchun Yatai, who received harsh criticism for his World Cup performance gave the home team a massive boost in the 58th minute with his second goal.

Ighalo put away a low cross from the right that was sent in by captain Ahmed Musa to complete his hat-trick

Samuel Kalu scored Nigeria's fourth goal after replacement Henry Onyekuru set him up.

The Super Eagles celebrating Ighalo comes after they suffered an ordeal at the hands of Libya in the qualification for the 2025 AFCON.
