Legendary Super Eagles midfielder Sunday Oliseh accused former Arsenal striker Thierry Henry of having an egocentric viewpoint after the Frenchman’s assessment of the Mohamed Salah saga.

When Henry said

As Pulse Sports reported, Salah stirred a storm when he went ballistic in a post-match interview. He had been benched for three consecutive matches, and after the third against Leeds, he accused the club of throwing him under the bus and said his relationship with Slot had broken down.

Salah's comment has attracted both support and criticism. Henry's assessment carried elements of both sides of the divide. He said he understood Salah's frustration, citing anecdotes from his own career.

However, he vehemently disagreed with the Egyptian international’s decision to share his frustration publicly, faulting Salah for not protecting his teammates.

What Oliseh said

Tweets from the former Borussia Dortmund midfielder suggest that he sides with Salah. He slammed Jamie Carragher in another tweet, calling him a “nobody” for his polarising criticism of Salah

In a subsequent tweet, he criticised Henry's take. The former Arsenal star’s example was from his time at Barcelona. Oliseh recalled that Henry's status at the Catalan side paled in comparison to what he enjoyed at Arsenal, which is similar to Salah at Liverpool. And as such, he argued that the example was untenable.

“I like ‘Tete’; we played at Juventus together, but I think he is getting this one wrong,” Oliseh said. When will some people learn that it is not always about them?!

"Salah has been the 'main man' at Liverpool for almost a decade, like Messi at Barcelona. Henry was not brought to Barcelona to lead the team but rather to help Messi, Eto'o, and Iniesta lead the team!

“The way Salah is loved and adored in Egypt, Henry was and is miles away loved that way in France. With all due respect!  Salah has a right to be unhappy at his situation more than Henry had at Barcelona, "but Salah should only not have gone public!! Abeg leave our African brotha alone ... lol.”
