Curry explosion for Warriors
The Warriors have been struggling all season with a 22-22 record and seventh in a loaded western conference.
The return of Curry from injury has elevated the Warriors in recent weeks and are now 2-1 in their last three outings.
Kerr compares Curry to Jordan
After the game, Warriors Head Coach Steve Kerr compared his star guard Curry to Jordan.
Kerr has coached Curry to four NBA championships and was a teammate with Jordan as they won three championships from 1996 to 1998.
At the post-match press conference, Kerr made the comparison based on his experinece with the two players.
Kerr said, "He's the modern MJ. I used to see this playing with the Bulls.
"Half the crowd's got red 23 jerseys on and now half the crowd's got blue and yellow 30 jerseys."
Curry after the game explained that it was special to be compared to Jordan.
He said, "I think it's interesting because, like you said, he played with [Jordan] and he understood what the road shows looked like in opposing arenas when fans come out and how Dub Nation has grown over the years. So that's special."
Curry returns to action when the Golden State Warriors take on the Boston Celtics in their next fixture scheduled for Friday, January 20, 2023.
