STAR-STRUCK! England legends Ferdinand, Gerrard and Hargreaves left in AWE by Super Eagles icon Jay Jay Okocha
At the epic Champions League final between Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan in Munich, football legends Rio Ferdinand, Steven Gerrard, and Owen Hargreaves, all pundits for TNT Sports, found themselves star-struck by none other than Super Eagles legend Jay Jay Okocha.
Okocha, Nigeria’s former captain, was in attendance to witness his former club PSG make history with their first-ever Champions League title.
With the former midfielder watching as he did in Paris during the semifinal against Arsenal, the French champions put on a show to blist past a helpless Inter Milan on the night to become the latest club to lift their first in Bayern’s home.
After the thrilling 5-0 victory, Ferdinand, Gerrard, and Hargreaves couldn’t resist the opportunity to take photos with the African icon, who shared the Premier League pitch with them during their playing careers.
The photo session quickly turned into an impromptu interview as TNT Sports seized the moment to get Okocha’s thoughts on PSG’s historic win.
The Nigerian legend expressed his joy and pride in his former club’s success, sharing insights about the shocking one-sided affair that he witnessed, as reported by Pulse Sports Nigeria.
Per the report, Okocha did not predict the final result but wanted his former club to win their first-ever Champions League crown on the night.
“No, I predicted 2-1. But who cares?” Okocha stated emphatically after the TNT presenter asked him if he expected the wide margin.
“I wanted to see them win and they won, which is great for the club, first time in their history, and I think it is good for football as well,” he added.
This memorable encounter shows the respect and admiration that football greats have for Okocha, celebrating his enduring legacy both on and off the pitch
