Midfielder Abdul-Karim Watambala shined the brightest for Vipers SC as they comfortably dispatched off Iganga Young FC 3-0 to cruise into the quarterfinals of the Stanbic Uganda Cup.

Watambala scored one and assisted another to cap off a rather impressive individual performance on Wednesday at the St Mary's Stadium, Kitende.

Watambala then calmly assisted youngster Fazil Tumwine for his maiden senior goal at Vipers and the team's third on the evening.

Forward Mohammed Salem Ekbad, who was equally on the day, scored the Venoms' other goal off a pass from Fumador Asiwome to sink Iganga Young.

The scoreline could have been bigger for Vipers but each of Allan Okello, Milton Karisa and Asiwome missed brilliant chances.

Vipers have joined KCCA FC, BUL FC, Kitara, NEC, Pajule Lions FC and Police FC in the quarterfinals of the 50th edition of the competition.
