'Sometimes I hate my players' - Ruben Amorim reacts to Man United's current form
Ruben Amorim's Manchester United continues to struggle, with their latest match proving to be another nightmare for the Portuguese manager.
The Red Devils were knocked out of the League Cup after a stunning defeat to fourth-tier side Grimsby Town (2-2, 11-2 on penalties).
What Amorim said
In the pre-match press conference, as reported by Sportal, Ruben Amorim once again addressed the humiliating loss to Grimsby.
"I know that when I say these personal things, to be honest with you, every time we have or will have a defeat like that in the future, I will act this way. I will say that sometimes I hate my players, sometimes I love them, sometimes I want to defend them.
"This is my way of doing things, and I will act like this. And I felt that in that moment, I was very frustrated and angry.
"And I know, once again, that you have many experienced people talking about how I should handle the press, to be more consistent, to be calmer. I'm not going to act like that," Amorim stated in today's press conference.
Manchester United has yet to win an official match this season. After a 1-0 home defeat to Arsenal in the Premier League opener, the Red Devils drew 1-1 away at Fulham in the following round before being beaten last Wednesday by Grimsby Town in the League Cup.
The team, led by the former Portugal international, is back in action this Saturday at 3 PM, hosting Burnley in the third round of the Premier League.
