Sleepless Luka Doncic demands for his bed after dunking on his Ex

After a spectacular performance against his former team, the Dallas Mavericks, Luka Doncic revealed his immediate priority: sleep. 

In his first game against the Mavericks since the trade, Doncic delivered a masterclass, recording his first triple-double with the Lakers.

He finished with 19 points, 15 rebounds, and 12 assists, helping Los Angeles secure a 107-99 victory. 

Despite struggling with his shot, going 6-for-17, Doncic's playmaking skills were instrumental, particularly in the final moments when he assisted LeBron James for the game-winning layup with 32 seconds remaining.

After the win, the talented star revealed his ultimate wish in a video posted by the NBA official account on X.

"I’m going straight to sleep. I haven’t slept," he said, despite earlier reports suggesting he had enjoyed sufficient rest before the game. 

This exhaustion was a testament to the emotional and physical toll of facing his former franchise, where he spent several successful years before being traded to the Los Angeles Lakers just three weeks ago.

The Lakers' win was their third consecutive victory and their 13th in 16 games, with James contributing significantly by scoring 16 of his 27 points in the fourth quarter. 

For the Mavericks, Kyrie Irving led with 35 points, while Klay Thompson added 22.

Doncic's triple-double was his fourth of the season and his 81st overall, placing him seventh in NBA history for career triple-doubles. 

The game also featured a tribute to Anthony Davis, who received a standing ovation despite being sidelined with a groin injury.

As the Lakers prepare to host the Timberwolves in their next game, Doncic's performance against the Mavericks will be remembered as a highlight of his nascent time with the team. 

Despite his exhaustion, Doncic was able to show why he is regarded as one of the league's top talents.
