Shikangwa is currently contracted to Tanzanian giants Simba Queens but could be on her way south as the South African outfit is among the clubs interested in her services.

"It’s true that Shikangwa may leave us soon; many teams are chasing after her signature.

"So far we have received offers from South African giants Mamelodi Sundowns, and clubs from Japan, South Korea, and China as well.

"So far, I can’t say anything because the negotiations are ongoing, but once the deal is complete, we will be able to report it to the media," Simba Queens manager Selemani Makanya told a local media house.

The former Wiyeta Girls’ star – who joined the Tanzanian club last year - has only one month remaining in her Simba contract.

"She is now on the last month of her contract, meaning if all goes well, then she will have reported to her new side by Saturday, July 1, 2023.

"Jentrix is a great player and has really been instrumental at Simba this season. I know it will be a big blow to let her go, but as the club, we understand that’s the way to boost a player’s growth in a football career."

The former Vihiga Queens forward has been a key figure in Simba Queens’ set-up since she made the transfer.

Shikangwa scored 17 goals in 16 appearances and was named the best female footballer in the 2022–23 Tanzania Women's Premier League, although the club finished second in the race.

JKT Queens emerged as the champions of the competition.
