Sergio Ramos keen on extending PSG stay
Paris Saint-Germain defnder Sergio Ramos is reportedly keen to continue with the Ligue 1 club, despite not receiving a formal extension offer from the French side.
PSG unsure about Ramos extension
Ramos joined PSG from Real Madrid in the summer of 2021 and suffered several injury setbacks in his first season that prevented him from truly making his mark in the team, but has enjoyed a much better second season with fitness concerns now behind him.
Ramos has been vital for PSG this season, playing 33 matches across all competitions amidst a slew of injuries for Le Parisiens but his place in the future of the club is still in doubt as his contract expires this summer.
Ramos turns 37 years old this month, and there remain doubts about whether giving him another year is in the club’s best interest.
Ramos to know fate at the end of the season
PSG and Ramos are believed to be close to a resolution for the Spaniard’s contract, but talks have been halted so that the team can focus on the impending task of finishing the season strong with PSG still fighting for the Ligue 1 title and the UEFA Champions League.
Ramos will likely be judged by his performances over the rest of the season and will likely only be offered a contract extension if PSG do well in the league and in Europa.
Ramos will not be short of suitors if his contract is not renewed, and has already been touted as a possible summer recruit for Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr where his former Real Madrid teammate Cristiano Ronaldo currently plays.
