He continued, "Why don't they count Saudi Pro League goals and assists for the golden ball? It's all excuses."

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner has always claimed that the French Ligue 1 is not on the same standard as the Saudi Pro League.

However, this time, he added the Portuguese League to the list of clubs not better than the SPL.

His comment got a lot of reactions from fans with one saying, "CR7 calling Saudi Pro League better… next he’ll say Monopoly is more competitive than La Liga."

Another one said, "I also want the goals I scored in my backyard to be considered for golden boot."
