This big Serie A match, known as the Derby del Sole, is an important clash between these two teams who are fighting for the top of the table. Roma, who are the surprise league leaders, are just two points ahead of Napoli.

Roma come into this match in brilliant form. They are at the top of Serie A for the first time in over ten years. The home team had a positive week, including a 3-1 win against in the league last weekend and a 2-1 midweek win againstMidtjylland in the Europa League.

Napoli has had the upper hand in the Derby del Sole both historically and in recent years. The reigning Serie A champions have avoided defeat in 10 of their last 11 league matches against Roma.

In the most recent five meetings, Napoli has won twice, Roma has won once, and the other two ended in draws. Roma’s only win during this period came in December 2023, a 2–0 victory at the Stadio Olimpico. Their last clash ended in a close 1–1 draw back in February 2025, showing how tight and cautious these games can be.

Roma coach Gian Piero Gasperini will be missing forwards Artem Dovbyk and Angelino. Midfielders Neil El Aynaoui and Manu Kone are also doubts after picking up recent  knee and ankle injuries, respectively. 

On the positive side, Paulo Dybala made his return from injury during the week and is likely to start again. The Argentine will either be paired with Evan Ferguson up front or supported by Matias Soule and Lorenzo Pellegrini.

Meanwhile, the visitors are dealing with a longer list of injuries. The Napoli boss will travel without key players Frank Anguissa, Kevin De Bruyne, Billy Gilmour, Miguel Gutierrez, and Romelu Lukaku. This means Conte will have to stick to the same squad and formation he used in previous games.
