Cristiano Ronaldo’s power tussle with Al Nassr is reportedly over, and the Portuguese international is expected to return to action next weekend when the Saudi Pro League outfit face Al-Fateh as they continue to pursue Al-Hilal's domestic superiority.
The 41-year-old has missed Faris Najd’s last two matches in protest against the ownership of the club. Reports claim that Ronaldo was unhappy with their inactivity in the summer, especially after Al Hilal snapped up Karim Benzema from Al-Ittihad. However, the issues are now believed to have been addressed.
Strike over!
According to A Bola, the Portuguese media outlet which broke the news of Ronaldo’s strike, the top-billed striker has resolved his problems with the club after some of his key grievances were addressed.
Per the report, this included returning the full powers of Portuguese executives Jose Semedo and Simao Coutinho after their authority had waned, which affected their ability to shop efficiently in the transfer window.
Additionally, Ronaldo was said to be unhappy with the club owing members of staff overdue wages; the club has promised to make the required payments, according to the report.
With both parties having resolved their dispute, Ronaldo is prepared to return to action. While he is expected to miss the Asian Champions League clash against Arkadag in Turkmenistan, Ronaldo is set to return to action against Fateh in the next league match.
Ronaldo’s dispute with the league’s hierarchy has sparked rumours of a move to Inter Miami, with reports claiming he evaluated the possibility of a move to Inter Miami to combine forces with his eternal rival Lionel Messi in Major League Soccer.
