As reported by Spanish outlet Defensa Central, Real Madrid, who were also linked with Frimpong, are now focusing on signing Trent Alexander-Arnold.

There have been concerns within Real Madrid about Frimpong's ability to adapt to a back-four formation, thus opening the door for Liverpool to sign him.

The Reds are said to be keen on a full-back overhaul, with Andy Robertson's influence decreasing and Alexander-Arnold linked with a move to Los Blancos, and the reported interest in Frimpong would provide a significant boost to Liverpool's defensive options.
