Relegation battlers Sporting Lagos fling open gates for survival showdown vs 3SC
Relegation-threatened Sporting Lagos are leaving no stone unturned in their battle to survive the drop from the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL.
Pulse Sports reports that the Tech Boys are pulling out all the stops as they prepare to host neighbours Shooting Stars in a Southwest Derby on Monday.
Sporting Lagos host 3SC
The newly promoted side will host their more illustrious visitors at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan Stadium, in a rescheduled week 18 encounter.
Ahead of the all-important home match, the Tech Boys have taken steps by throwing open the gates and letting fans in for free for the do-or-die clash at Onikan.
That feeling when you know that Sporting Lagos returns to Onikan in 5 days," the club stated in a statement. "Attendance is free, but registration is compulsory," Sporting added.
Sporting sit deep inside relegation waters on the NPFL standings after a terrible run of five matches without a victory in the Football League.
Coach Paul Offor and his IT Boys welcome Shooting Stars to their home, knowing that another defeat, this time against a regional rival, would leave them more stranded and in deeper waters of trouble than they currently are.
Brace yourselves!

After 17 matches in their first-ever season in the Nigerian top flight, Sporting have managed just four wins, with seven defeats.
This leaves them 18th on the table, with 17 points - an average of one point per game in the NPFL.
A win against Oluyole Warriors, managed by Gbenga Ogunbote, the Oracle, would be the first win for the Tech Boys since a narrow win against Katsina United on December 3, 2023.
