After a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Marseille, Madrid mauled Kairat Almaty 5-0 on matchday two, with Kylian Mbappe bagging a hat-trick.

The French man was also the hero against Getafe in a La Liga game at the weekend, scoring the only goal in a 1-0 victory. Xabi Alonso’s side are now top of La Liga, two points ahead of Barcelona, and are only Bayern on the UCL log due to goal scored technicalities.

Meanwhile, Juventus have been at both the receiving and beneficial end of drama in their two UCL games.

The Bianconeri played a 4-4 home draw against Borussia Dortmund on match day one, scoring twice in stoppage time to level, despite letting in two late in normal time.

On match day two, they conceded a leveller late in stoppage time to draw 2-2 with Villarreal.

That draw was one of the five straight stalemates recorded by the Italian side, before they lost 2-0 to Como last weekend, making it six matches without victory across all competitions.
