Real Madrid has dispatched emissaries to Argentina to initiate talks for Franco Mastantuono, one of the world's most promising young talents, according to Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

Reports indicate the gifted playmaker's contract with River Plate runs only until the summer of 2026, and Real Madrid hopes to leverage this to secure his services at a reduced price.

Mastantuono has registered 10 goals and 7 assists in 61 appearances for River Plate, breaking several club records. His impressive performances earned him a call-up to the Argentinian national team, where he is currently training.

The Parisian club was recently considered the frontrunner for his signature, with European media reporting a potential fee of around €45 million. Real Madrid intends to move swiftly to secure a deal, aiming to outmanoeuvre PSG.
