Real Madrid eye Senegal-born star to bolster attacking options
LaLiga giants Real Madrid will reportedly enter the market for a new forward and have identified Senegal-born Assane Diao as a possible candidate after the youngster’s impressive start to life in LaLiga.
Senegalese-born forward rescuing Real Betis
Diao has been crucial to an ailing Real Betis side since making his debut for the senior team this season and has scored in every match he has started.
The Spain youth international made his debut for Real Betis’ first team in a Europa League tie against Rangers as a substitute but has started every game for the Beticos since.
Diao has made further appearances against Granada and Valencia in LaLiga, as well as Sparta Praha in the Europa League, scoring on each occasion to take his tally for the season to three goals in four games and three starts.
Real Madrid eye move for teenage forward
The 18-year-old forward’s form has not gone unnoticed, as LaLiga bigwigs Real Madrid are believed to be considering an offer for the teenager.
Diao has a contract with Real Betis until 2027, but the relatively low release clause in the contract, believed to be worth around €30 million, will not serve as a significant stumbling block for Los Blancos should they choose to pursue a deal.
Born in Ndangane, Senegal, Diao has already represented Spain on the U-18 and U-19 sides and is believed to be one of the most exciting youngsters currently making waves in LaLiga at the moment.
