Reactions as Lautaro Martinez shines in Inter's win vs Cremonese
Inter Milan travelled to the Stadio Giovanni Zini to face newcomers Cremonese in Serie A on Saturday, January 28, 2023.
The visitors were hoping to bounce back from their shock loss against Empoli earlier this week.
However, it was the hosts who took the lead in the 11th minute after a spectacular strike from Super Eagles forward David Okereke left Andre Onana with absolutely no chance to put Cremonese 1-0 up.

But the Nerazzuri responded well to the goal as Lautaro Martinez found the back of the net to level matters for the visitors.
Cremonese looked very much in the contest but were lacking in the final third as they saw more half-chances than really dangerous ones.
Inter , though, finished the first half the better of the two sides as goalkeeper Marco Carnesecchi made a double save in the 45th minute to deny the travelling fans any further reason to celebrate as both teams headed into the break with one goal apiece.
Second Half
Inter picked up from where they left off in the first period with Simone Inzaghi’s men looking more and more likely to take the lead for the first time in the encounter.
Edin Dzeko saw his effort saved in the 51st minute by Marco Carnesecchi before Marco Benassi let fly from distance three minutes later.
Cremosese started to see more chances after the 50th minute mark and Andre Onana was tested by a header from Dani Ciofani in the 57th minute.
Ciofani would eventually make way for Super Eagles of Nigeria striker Cyriel Dessers in the 60th minute as the hosts desired to go all out against the former Serie A champions.
Inter finally found the back of the net and completed their comeback in the 65th minute and Edin Dzeko combined well with Lautaro Martinez for the latter’s brace in the match to put Inter 1-2 up with less 25 minutes still to go.

Dessers himself got in on the action and nearly levelled matters for the hosts after a woeful finish for the hosts in the 81st minute.
In the end, Inter ran out deserved winners against Cremonese on Saturday and are now up to second on the summit ahead of defending champions and local rivals Milan - who play Sassuolo on Sunday and still 10 points off league leaders Napoli who battle Roma on Sunday as well.

Edin Dzeko played excellent today I watched the game live and he was the main reason Inter didn’t lose today. His rebounded shot was out away and then he had an great assist for the go-ahead goal. I’ll never get tired of watching him play. #BIH pic.twitter.com/9iLUwFoyts

10x4 - #Lautaro Martínez is the 3rd foreign player in Inter's history to reach 10+ goals in at least 4 different seasons in Serie A, after Stefano Nyers and Mauro Icardi (both five). Toro.#CremoneseInter #SerieA pic.twitter.com/y99i8to7Qw
