PSG suffer a blow as Mbappe is out of Champions League clash against Bayern
Kylian Mbappe will miss the first leg of PSG’s Champions League encounter against Bayern Munich this month.
PSG return to European football action when they welcome Bayern in the first leg of their Champions League round of 16 clash on valentine’s day, February 14.
Mbappe's injury woes
However, the French champions will be without one of their most-prized asset for the encounter after he picked up an injury in the 3-1 win over Montpellier on Wednesday night.
The 24-year-old walked off with a suspected thigh injury midway through the Ligue 1 encounter at Stade de la Mosson.
Following the game, PSG coach Christophe Galtier revealed Mbapped took a blow to his thigh and suffered a muscle injury, but expressed optimism over his potential absence.
Mbappe blow for PSG
However, according to Ben Jacobs, Mbappe is set to be out for three weeks, which rules him out of the clash against Bayern.
Mbappe’s potential absence is a big blow for Les Parisens, who need all their best players to beat a mighty Bayern side.
Mbappe has been arguably PSG's best player this season with 13 goals in 19 Ligue 1 games this season. The former Monaco man is also the joint-top scorer in the Champions League this season, with seven goals in six matches.
Mbappe will definitely miss PSG’s home match against Toulouse and the big clash against Olympique Marseille.
He is also set to miss the game against Monaco next weekend. However, Mbappe should be fit for the second-leg clash against Bayern at the Allianz Arena on March 8.
