Paul Onuachu beats Super Eagles teammate Osimhen to Baller of the Week award
Trabzonspor striker Paul Onuachu has been named Baller of the Week, narrowly defeating fellow Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen after standout performances in the Turkish Super Lig this weekend.
The 6'7" Nigerian powered Trabzonspor to a 3-0 win over Samsunspor on Saturday, scoring a brace in the 23rd and 81st minutes.
His first was a dominant header, followed by a composed finish to secure the points. The goals lifted Onuachu to 15 league strikes this season, positioning him among Europe's leading scorers and solidifying his role as a top finisher in Turkey.
Osimhen, playing for leaders Galatasaray, also shone in a 3-0 away victory against Rizespor on Sunday. He netted the third goal in the 73rd minute, taking his league tally to nine and helping Galatasaray extend their lead to six points.
The duo's form has intensified their race for the Super Lig Golden Boot, contrasting Onuachu's physicality with Osimhen's speed and skill.
