Paris 2024: Morocco 2-1 Argentina: Fans lament 15 minutes of extra-time equalizer in Olympic opener

Morocco supporters feel that their team's 2-2 draw with Argentina in the opening game of the Olympics was rigged after a late goal in fifteen minutes of extra time.

Social media users have referred to Argentina's match against Morocco as "rigged" after noticing that the Olympic match has been extended.

In the football tournament's Group B match, the two teams squared off at the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard, with Morocco winning 2-0 thanks to two goals from Soufiane Rahimi before halftime.

Argentina is one of the favorites for the competition with Javier Mascherano in charge and players like Nicolas Otamendi, Enzo Fernandez, and Julian Alvarez in the lineup.

Giuliano Simeone gave them a response, and Cristian Medina's last-minute goal completed an incredible comeback.

Unbelievably, the leveller arrived in the sixteenth minute of stoppage time, and the additional sum left many puzzled.

After the game, Moroccan supporters allegedly invaded the field and threw noise bombs at the Argentina players, which escalated the situation.

Although the additional fifteen minutes seem to be in accordance with the latest FIFA regulation change, many were left perplexed and creating their own hypotheses.
