Osimhen is a champion — Napoli captain Di Lorenzo praises striker after performance against Barca

The reigning Serie A champions played out a 1-1 draw against Barcelona at the Diego Armando Stadium in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League knockout tie.

Robert Lewandowski opened the scoring for the visitors on the hour-mark before Victor Osimhen equalised with 15 minutes remaining.

It was the forward’s first goal in the UEFA Champions League this season, and in the grand scheme of things, could be a hugely important strike.

At full-time, the Napoli captain Giovanni Di Lorenzo showered praise on Osimhen.

“Osimhen is a champion and he returned with the right mindset.

"He will give us a hand, just as Simeone and Raspadori will, now the coach has a lot of options to choose from."
