Osimhen chapter closed! Arsenal target new options to bolster attack as Napoli wait for offers
Arsenal have moved on from their pursuit of Victor Osimhen and are now focusing on RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko and Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyokeres as their top striker targets for the summer transfer window.
The duo have emerged as priorities as the Gunners urgently need to reinforce their attack following a season plagued by injuries.
With Gabriel Jesus out since January due to an ACL injury and Kai Havertz sidelined since February with a hamstring issue from a winter training break in Dubai, Arsenal have been left without a recognized striker.
Havertz, despite his absence, still leads the team with nine goals this season. In the meantime, midfielder Mikel Merino has had to step up as an emergency forward for much of the campaign.According to The Independent, both Sesko and Gyokeres fit Arsenal’s budget, with transfer fees expected to be £75m or less.
At just 21, Sesko has already notched 39 goals over the past two seasons, making him one of Europe’s most coveted young attackers.
Gyokeres, on the other hand, has been even more prolific, bagging an incredible 98 goals in 100 games for Sporting Lisbon, including 38 in 32 league matches this season. While his release clause stands at £84.1m (€100m), he could be available for around £67m.
