The Canadian cost the Gunners around €1.15M and signed a four-year contract, running until June 2029. She will wear the number 15 shirt.

This deal eclipses the previous record set by Chelsea when they signed USWNT defender Naomi Girma from San Diego Wave for approximately €950,000.

Smith, 20, was the Reds' top scorer last season with seven goals after arriving from Sporting CP in July 2024 for a then-club-record €250,000.

"It's a privilege and an honor to sign for Arsenal. It's my dream to compete for major titles here in England and in Europe, and I'm excited to get started and contribute to that here with Arsenal. The atmosphere the fans create at the Emirates is incredible, and I can't wait to have that on my side now," she told the club's channel.

Arsenal won their second European title in Lisbon last season, defeating Barcelona in the final at the Estádio José Alvalade. Their previous title came in 2007.
