On a cold and rainy day in the Swiss city, Seville blasted off with his trademark bullet start and was untouchable from there, powering to the finish line in a blistering 9.87s (-0.3) for his second consecutive Diamond League victory.

He was far ahead of World and Olympic champion Lyles, who clocked a slower time of 10.02s from his performance in Silesia (9.90s). Ackeem Blake finished third also in 10.02s, while Akani Simbine was fourth in 10.05s.

Despite Kishane Thompson being the Jamaican champion, Seville's performances in his past few races have proven he's a man on a mission this season, and on his very good day, he will be hard to beat.

With the world championships in Tokyo on the horizon, the men's 100m division just got more competitive, having at least three sprinters (Seville, Thompson, and Lyles) as the top favourites for the title.
