Fabregas, who broke into the Gunners’ first team as a teenager under Arsène Wenger, knows all about the pressure of the big stage.

What Fabregas said

Now 38 and thriving as manager of Serie A side Como, where he kept the club in the Italian top flight last season, the Spaniard says Arsenal’s young stars are thriving under Mikel Arteta’s fearless approach.

Speaking to Daily Mail Sport, Fabregas said, “They don’t need any advice, they are too good. They are two top talents. They don’t need any type of advice because they are doing even better than what I did when I was very young.

“What I like the most about them is that they have so much personality, they are not afraid of the big stage. They play against Man City, they score goals, they are men of the match, they keep growing, they make an impact when they have to," he added.

The Spaniard also credited Arsenal’s academy for consistently producing first-team quality players, referencing Bukayo Saka’s breakthrough as another example.

“When Saka came on a couple of years ago, he had the same impact. It’s great to see because there is a lot of work behind the scenes in the academy. It’s fantastic to keep seeing these boys deliver week in, week out.

“Fair play to Mikel as well, who puts them to play. There are a lot of talents in youth football around the world, but who is the brave guy who will put them on the pitch? This is the quality of the coach, to trust them and keep playing them," he added.

Nwaneri and Lewis-Skelly, both 17, have become regulars in the Arsenal first team this season and committed their futures to the club by signing new contracts until 2030.
