Doma United manager Akinade Onigbinde has raised alarm after his side suffered another defeat on the road in the NPFL.
Coach Onigbinde says his rookie team is in danger following defeat to defending champions Rivers United in Port Harcourt.
Rivers United defeated the newly promoted side 2-0 in a rescheduled NPFL encounter on Thursday.
Doma boss laments
An excellent first half performance from the Pride of Rivers handed the newly promoted side from Gombe another loss away from home.
Nyima Nwagua and Albert Korvah were the scorers as the Pride of Rivers secured their Super Six ticket from Group B.
The result was a setback for third-placed Doma who have been brilliant all season but are now in danger of missing the playoff.
Aware of what lies ahead, Doma boss is concerned about his team’s chances with their final game of the season also away from home.
"It's a very bad result for us because we came down here to pick a point but this is a very bad result for us,” the coach said about the defeat.
"We are in danger zone but it doesn't mean, we still have one match left,” the worried coach added.
Doma United are in Umuahia to face Abia Warrioe who are also in contention for a place in the Super Six.
Just two points separate the Gombe side from Abia Warriors and Onigbinde has chosen to remain optimistic.
“If we can go there and pick a surprise, anything can happen in football,” he concluded.
