Others will use the Boston meet as a launchpad for their entire season, with eyes on the World Athletics Ultimate Championship in Budapest this September.

Clash of Champions in the Sprints

One of the day's most anticipated matchups is the men's 300m, which features four global gold medalists from different disciplines. American sprint star Lyles, will face off against 2022 world indoor 400m champion Jereem Richards, 2016 world indoor 60m champion Trayvon Bromell, and decorated relay specialist Vernon Norwood.

Lyles, who won the 60m at this event last year, will be running his second 300m race of the season after his opener in Florida last weekend. His indoor personal best of 31.87 was a world indoor best when he set it in 2017. Richards, however, holds the current meeting record of 32.10, setting the stage for a potential assault on the world short track best of 31.56.

The men's 600m is another highlight, bringing together a trio of elite 800m runners. Donavan Brazier, the 2019 world champion who returned to top form last year after a long injury layoff, will be aiming for another Boston victory. He will be challenged by 2024 world indoor champion Bryce Hoppel and Ireland's Cian McPhillips, who set a national outdoor record of 1:42.15 last year.

Global Medallists Collide in Hurdles and Field Events

The women's 60m hurdles presents a showdown between two double world champions. Jamaica's Danielle Williams, the 2015 and 2023 outdoor world champion, will race against Devynne Charlton of The Bahamas, the 2024 and 2025 world indoor champion and current world record holder. Williams arrives in Boston as the early season world leader with a 7.94 performance.

The men's 60m hurdles is equally stacked, featuring world champion Cordell Tinch, Olympic silver medalist Daniel Roberts, and 2022 world silver medalist Trey Cunningham. In other sprint action, 2024 Diamond League champion Ackeem Blake headlines the men's 60m, while 2019 world 200m champion Dina Asher-Smith leads the women's field.

World heptathlon champion Anna Hall adds a unique dimension to the competition, as she is set to compete in both the women's 400m and the long jump. In the long jump, she will face a formidable domestic lineup that includes double Olympic bronze medalist Jasmine Moore, world indoor champion Claire Bryant, and 2024 world indoor silver medalist Monae’ Nichols.

Deep Fields Promise Fast Distance Races

As is tradition in Boston, distance running fans are in for a treat. A high-quality men's 2000m field includes 2022 world 1500m champion Jake Wightman, double Olympic bronze medalist Grant Fisher, and 2024 world indoor 1500m bronze medalist Hobbs Kessler.

The women's 1500m will see a clash between world silver medalist Dorcus Ewoi of Kenya and US mile record-holder Sinclaire Johnson. The action concludes with a standout women's 3000m, featuring Olympic silver medalist Jessica Hull and 2024 world indoor champion Elle St Pierre, who holds the US indoor record for the event.

The men's 3000m race is shaping up to be a major highlight, featuring a compelling duel between rising star Cameron Myers and defending champion Andrew Coscoran. Myers, the world U20 mile record-holder, will challenge the Irish record-holder Coscoran, who is returning to the track where he claimed victory last year.
