‘No one else in Türkiye could have scored that goal’ - Samsunspor president heaps praise on Osimhen after acrobatic finish

Osimhen produced a moment of sheer brilliance on Friday, scoring a sensational stoppage-time bicycle kick to secure a dramatic 3-2 victory over Samsunspor in the Turkish Super Lig.

The Nigerian international, recently returned from a hamstring injury, found the net twice at a thunderous RAMS Park. 

His breathtaking 93rd-minute winner sealed the points after a hard-fought contest, leaving the visitors stunned and the home fans in raptures.

Yıldırım remarked that Osimhen's goal single-handedly justified the reported €75-80 million fee Galatasaray paid Napoli for his services last summer.

"My ears were blocked while watching the match in the second half," Yıldırım said, according to AA. "The Galatasaray fans were trying to stop Samsunspor with incredible whistling.

Samsunspor asserted their dominance in the second half. We could have scored. We missed chances. 'If we're going to lose, let's lose like this.'"

"Then, in the 88th minute, we got the goal we were waiting for. We brought the score from 2-0 to 2-2. We thought the match would end like this. 

Then Victor Osimhen showed why he's an €80 million player. No one else in Türkiye could have scored that goal."

Osimhen's brace brings his season tally to five goals in ten league appearances. His first goal of the night was also his first since returning from an injury sustained during the November international break.

The win solidifies Galatasaray's position at the top of the Super Lig table, maintaining a four-point lead over rivals Fenerbahçe.
